True healing begins when you stop fighting your body.
Hello! I’m Tedy, a psychologist for eating disorders, a psychotherapist in training, a certified fitness trainer, and an ordinary girl who went through the hell of an eating disorder but emerged from that vicious cycle as a winner.
Tedy’s life isn’t a mask I want to hide behind; it’s the story and personal example I want to give you so you can realize that complete change and recovery are entirely achievable.
What's the connection between a psychologist/psychotherapist and a fitness trainer?
The knowledge I gained from the fitness academy perfectly complements the ways I can help because people with eating disorders often struggle to find balance with movement and adapt to a new way of thinking. This means shifting the focus from seeing workouts as a way to burn calories or as a punishment for eating or binging, to a way of building and maintaining a healthy, functional body without extremes or obsession. It’s about self-care and love, not punishment.
I also want to help those of you who want to get in shape with knowledge, support, and faith in the process, rather than through hunger, deprivation, and restrictions. This knowledge will give you freedom and protect you from the trap of eating disorders and an unhealthy relationship with food.
Tedy's life - Tedy's Life
My eating problems began in my early teens. I spent nearly a decade in the vicious cycle of every eating disorder: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and orthorexia. My longest and most exhausting battle was with bulimia. The years that followed (approximately four more) were spent in various extremes, constant diets, and strict monitoring of every bite and every pound of body weight.
Over time, through trials, errors, lessons, and knowledge, I realized that the path to good health doesn’t come from hunger, deprivation, extreme restrictions, or fighting with our bodies. Instead, it comes from understanding our bodies’ needs and giving them the necessary care.
Eating disorders
Eating disorders fall into a group of conditions defined by unhealthy eating habits that harm an individual’s mental and physical health.
It’s more than just consuming too little or too much food. It’s when someone has an unhealthy focus on their eating, physical activity, and a completely wrong and distorted perception of their body size and appearance.
